2025.04.20 | Alive. Free. Loved. With Jesus.

This blog is based on the sermon from April 20, 2025.
As I attended our Easter weekend services, I was blessed to experience something truly special. I watched as families… many of whom were attending church for the first time or returning after a long time… gathered for the Good Friday service, Easter Egg Hunt, and Easter Sunday service. There’s something about seeing people come through those doors, searching for hope, that reminds me of why I love being a part of Hope Community.

The excitement in the air, the laughter of children, and the warm conversations with parents were all reminders of the power of grace. I saw families come in with fresh hope, and it was incredible to see them return the very next day for the Easter Sunday service. Even in such a short time, witnessing their journey filled my heart.

The Good Friday service set the tone for the entire weekend. As we gathered to reflect on Jesus' sacrifice, we were reminded that His death on the cross wasn’t just a historical event… It was the moment grace became personal. Jesus took on our sins so that we could live in freedom. That moment of reflection prepared our hearts for the joy of Easter Sunday, where we celebrated the resurrection that brings us new life.

The entire Easter weekend revolves around one powerful truth: we are united with Him. Romans 6:5 says, "If we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His."

The grace we receive through Jesus transforms us.

It’s more than forgiveness; it’s a new life, a fresh start, and a love that can never be taken away.

Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection are all about transformation.

It’s not just about forgiveness… It's about being made new.

The grace He offers doesn’t leave us where we are; it takes us from guilt to freedom, from death to life, from hopelessness to joy.

Those of us who have accepted Jesus are alive in Him. We’re alive and free, alive and new, alive and righteous, and alive and loved. And I’ve seen firsthand the impact of that grace… not just in my own life, but in the lives of the people I serve alongside, and in the faces of those who found their way back to church this Easter.

If you’ve experienced that grace, you know exactly what I mean. And if you’re still wondering what it could mean for you, I encourage you to take that next step of faith. Jesus changes everything, and He’s offering you that same transformation.

If you missed any of our Easter weekend services or would like to relive the experience, I invite you to watch both the Good Friday and Easter Sunday services.
