2025.07.27 | When God Redirects You, Trust Him
This blog is based on the sermon from July 27, 2025.
I thought I had it all lined up... until the whole thing unraveled. Turns out, that closed door was a blessing in disguise.
I had been working with a client for three years. It was stable, familiar, and honestly, a huge part of my daily rhythm. I thought I’d be with them for a long time. It became my comfort zone... something I could rely on.
Then on New Year’s Eve, I got the message: they were ending the contract.
It felt like such an abrupt ending. One chapter closed before I had even dreamed up the next one. And while I was shocked, I wasn’t shaken. Deep down, I knew this wasn’t random. I believed God was still writing my story.
He gives and takes away, and His timing is never off.
A few days later, a new opportunity opened up. And it wasn’t just a job... it was a role that felt made for me. A space where my skills met ministry. I found myself working with a faith-based team, doing creative work that actually helped others know Jesus. It was more than I expected. God had been redirecting me all along.
My story isn’t unique. The Bible is full of moments where people had to pivot when God changed the plan.
In Acts 16, Paul and his team knew what it was like to face closed doors. Twice, they tried to go where they thought they should... and twice, the Holy Spirit said no. But then came the vision of Macedonia. And when they obeyed, God led them to exactly the right people... people whose hearts He had already prepared.
Sometimes God’s “no” feels like a setback. But it’s really a setup for something greater.
If you’re staring at a door that just closed, I hope this encourages you: God hasn’t forgotten you. He’s not finished. Trust His redirection... He might be leading you to a place that’s not just new, but meant for you.

If this resonates with you, we’d love for you to hear the full message from Acts 16. Watch it now on our YouTube channel, and be reminded that God’s direction is always good.
Has God ever redirected your path in a way that didn’t make sense at the time… but turned out to be exactly what you needed?
