2025.03.02 | Finding My Worth in Christ

This blog is based on the sermon from March 2, 2025.
For years, I searched for my worth in all the usual places: success, relationships, accomplishments, hoping that something, anything, would finally make me feel complete. But no matter how much I achieved or how many people affirmed me, there was always this quiet ache inside… a feeling that I still wasn’t enough.

Then, during our journey through Matthew at Hope Community, David shared a message on the Parable of the Pearl of Great Value (Matthew 13:45-46), and something clicked.

In this parable, Jesus tells the story of a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds one of great value, he sells everything to buy it.

And then it hit me... Jesus is the merchant… and I am the pearl.

I had spent so much time trying to prove my worth, but my value was already set by the One who created me. Jesus gave up everything to redeem me… not because of anything I had done, but simply because He loves me. My worth wasn’t found in my past, my failures, or even my greatest achievements. It was found in Him.

A Love That Changes Everything

I don’t think I’ll ever fully grasp how deeply God treasures us. He paid the highest price! Not because we earned it, but because we belong to Him. You and I are His beloved. That truth is overwhelming, humbling, and completely life-changing.

I used to strive so hard to prove I was enough. But now? I rest in the truth that I am already priceless in His eyes.

Living as His Pearl

This message challenged me: if I am God’s treasure, am I living like it? Am I reflecting His love? Am I growing in my faith and shining His light to others?

It’s not always easy, but knowing I am deeply valued by God gives me the courage to walk in His love, to trust Him more, and to share this truth with others.

Maybe you’ve been searching for your worth too. But the good news? You don’t have to earn it…

Jesus has already declared it.

You are treasured.

You are chosen.

You are loved.

If this message speaks to you, I invite you to watch our latest sermon and let this truth sink into your heart.
You are priceless. Never forget that.
