2025.03.30 | When What You Have Feels Like Not Enough

This blog is based on the sermon from March 30, 2025.
I’ll never forget the moment I stared at my bank statement and felt the weight of "not enough." The numbers didn’t lie, and my carefully planned budget had unraveled. It wasn’t just money. I felt stretched in every way. Not enough energy, not enough patience, not enough faith. Ever been there?

That Sunday, I walked into Hope Community, carrying the same worries. The sermon was on Matthew 14... the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000. I had heard it before, but this time, something hit me differently.
The disciples saw the problem first. Thousands of hungry people. Not enough food. Their immediate reaction? "Send them away."

But Jesus didn’t see the lack... He saw an opportunity.

Jesus took what little they had: five loaves and two fish... and did something miraculous. He didn’t just make it stretch; He multiplied it. The people didn’t just get by; they were satisfied. More than enough.

It made me wonder: How often do I look at my life through the lens of lack instead of trust?

When I feel like I don’t have enough: time, resources, wisdom… do I bring it to Jesus?

Or do I hold back, thinking it’s too small for Him to use?

That day, I left church reminded that Jesus doesn’t just provide… He also invites us into His work. He took what the disciples had, blessed it, and then gave it back to them to distribute. He let them be part of the miracle. Even with the little I have, God still wants to use me for His purposes.

Maybe you’re feeling like you don’t have enough right now. Maybe you’re overwhelmed, stretched thin, or uncertain. What would it look like to trust Jesus with what you have? To place even the smallest offering in His hands and let Him do more than you can imagine?

I’d love for you to dive deeper into this message. You can watch the full sermon on our YouTube channel here:
And if this resonated with you, take a moment to reflect:
  • Where in your life do you feel like you don’t have enough?
  • How might Jesus be inviting you to trust Him with what you have?
  • What if your "not enough" is exactly what God wants to use?

Let’s walk in trust together. Jesus is more than enough.
