2025.08.31 | Grace That Gathers Us
This blog is based on the sermon from August 31, 2025.
This past Sunday, I was reminded once more that God’s grace not only saves us but also molds us. In Titus 2, Paul reminds us:
“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age…”
(Titus 2:11–12).
It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age…”
(Titus 2:11–12).
That passage came alive as I looked around our Hope family. From kids growing up in faith, to students stepping into leadership, to older generations encouraging with wisdom... you can see grace at work in every corner.
One of the most wonderful aspects of Hope is witnessing how grace connects us not only as individuals but also as a family. Grace saves us, yes, but it also shapes us, trains us, and teaches us to live differently. And the amazing part? We get to walk that journey side by side.
I see it when kids sing songs about Jesus and start asking their own questions. I see it in students encouraging one another to follow Christ even when it’s hard. I see it in moms and dads learning how to live out faith in the everyday, and in friends choosing to walk together through both joy and struggle.
Community is where grace gets real. Alone, it’s easy to forget who we are and what God has called us to. But together, we remind one another: we belong to Him, and we are a people redeemed to live with hope.
This week, I’m thankful for the kind of community Paul described to Titus... one that spans generations, friendships, and families, all pointing back to the same Savior who gave Himself for us.
