2025.03.16 | Are We Missing What’s Right in Front of Us?
This blog is based on the sermon from March 16, 2025.
I remember when I first realized Jesus was worth everything. It wasn’t some big, dramatic moment… just a quiet realization after a really hard season. I kept chasing things I thought would fulfill me, but they always left me empty. I felt lost, and that’s when it hit me… nothing compares to Jesus. Now, as we go through Matthew at Hope Community, that truth is hitting me all over again.
In Matthew 13, Jesus says the kingdom is like a treasure… something so valuable that once you find it, nothing else matters. And He calls His followers scribes, keepers of truth. That means He’s given us something priceless, not just to hold onto, but to share.
On Sunday, Ryan talked about how he joined this online event where people read Scripture out loud for 77 hours… no commentary, no explanations, just God’s Word. And people’s lives were changed. Some repented, others had their faith renewed. It reminded me: the gospel is always enough.
But not everyone sees Jesus as treasure. Even His own hometown rejected Him. I’ve felt that too: being so excited to share Jesus, only to be met with silence, even rejection. It’s discouraging, but Jesus reminds us: rejection isn’t failure. Our job isn’t to make people believe… it’s to faithfully share what we’ve been given.
So how do we keep going when it’s hard?
1. Stay in the Word.
Scripture isn’t just for knowledge... it shapes us, equips us, and reminds us of what we have in Jesus. What’s one verse or passage that has anchored your faith in a tough season?
2. Pray boldly.
George Müller prayed for 100 people who didn’t believe in Jesus. 95 came to faith before he died, and the last five at his funeral. Do we pray with that kind of faith? Who’s on your heart to pray for?
3. Lean on community.
We’re not meant to do this alone. We need people who encourage us, pray with us, and remind us why Jesus is worth everything. Who in your life points you back to Jesus? How can you be that person for someone else?
Jesus is the treasure. He’s worth everything...
And He invites us to not just receive Him, but to share Him.

If you’re wrestling with rejection or looking for ways to share your faith, you’re not alone. We’d love to walk alongside you. Send us a message, or better yet… join us this Sunday at Hope Community. Let’s seek this treasure together.
