2025.10.12 | Kingdom Come
This blog is based on the sermon from October 12, 2025.
There are moments in life that pull back the curtain for just a second, when something ordinary suddenly feels sacred. For me, it happened one quiet morning as sunlight hit the kitchen counter just right while I was making coffee. Nothing dramatic, just this stillness that reminded me: God is near. It was a small glimpse of glory in an ordinary day.
That same sense of wonder came rushing back during this week’s sermon from Matthew 17, when Pastor Jeff walked us through the Transfiguration… the moment Jesus’ glory was revealed on the mountain. Peter, James, and John saw Jesus for who He truly is: radiant, divine, unshaken. And in that moment, everything else faded away.
Sometimes I forget that this same Jesus, the One who shone brighter than the sun, walks with me every day because my eyes are often fixed on what’s wrong instead of Who’s with me. Like Pastor Jeff said, “Look to Jesus.” When life feels confusing, when faith feels small, that’s the invitation… to look again.
But the story doesn’t end on the mountain. Jesus told His disciples not to speak about what they’d seen “until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.” And now, we live on the other side of that “until.” The resurrection has already happened. The waiting is over.
That means we get to tell the world who Jesus is: kind, powerful, glorious, and real. We don’t just admire His glory; we share it. We let our own stories, struggles, and small moments reflect the hope of a Savior who conquered death and still transforms lives today.
So this week, may we keep looking, not just for the mountain moments, but for Jesus right in the middle of ordinary life. And as we do, may we find courage to tell someone else what we’ve seen and known of His goodness.
